Welcome to my blog! My name is Melanie (you can call me Mel) and I live in a small rural village called Cherhill in Wiltshire, UK.
I’ve always had a passion for fabrics and sewing and I now design and make patchwork quilts in my ‘spare time’. (I say ‘spare’ in quotes because just like many other working parents, I do not have much spare time!)
Some of my patterns have been published in patchwork quilting magazines and I also sell kits to make my quilts via my Melony Patch Etsy shop.
I have also just started designing my own fabric, also available via my Melony Patch Etsy shop. Pop on over and take a peek!
I started my blog in 2018 as a way of recording my quilting adventures. I often post free patterns, including my Block of the Month for 2020, my 2019 quilt along to make my ‘Happiness’ quilt’, and my regular monthly ‘quilt spot‘ post where I write about quilts I’ve spotted in movies and on the telly (see the up-to-date A-Z list of quilt spots here).
Since publishing my blog, I’ve been selected as a “top 40 patchwork blogs to follow” (yay!) – check it out here: https://blog.feedspot.com/patchwork_blogs/.
I hope you stay with me – simply click on the ‘Follow’ button on the homepage.
